Hyannis School Improvement Fund Receives Generous Donation

February 17, 2022

A community service project undertaken by the Hyannis Sandbots Robotics 4-H Club resulted in a big gain for Hyannis Area Schools.  The club members held a bake sale on February 8 during the Hyannis-Garden County basketball games, selling over 50 items by silent auction.  Bids of up to $30 were received, along with multiple cash donations.  The students had chosen Hyannis Area Schools Improvement Fund as the recipient of the proceeds, and were excited to present Superintendent Travis Hawk with a check for $620.25.

Approximately a year ago Hyannis Area Schools formed a committee to identify facility needs and to develop a structure to raise funds to help make these needed facility upgrades a possibility.  New lecture hall seating, score boards, digital marquees, and goal posts are just a few of the items that have been identified.  ESSER III Funds are being used for Lecture Hall renovations and the Hyannis Area Schools Improvement Fund is taking donations to purchase new theater seating for the lecture hall.  The Advisory Committee is very thankful for the work of the Sandbots and their generous donation to the fundraising efforts.
