Longhorn Basketball: Sandhills-Thedford and Arthur

On January 19, 2012, the Longhorn Basketball team traveled to Thedford to joust the Knights. The Knights set the tone of the night, because at half time they were dominating. The Longhorns made an admiral effort, but they could not take home the win: 18-81. Gunnar Johnson was leading scorer, with a total of seven points. Leading rebounders were Johnson and David Safarik, both with a total of three rebounds. Safarik was leader of assists with a total of two and leader of block shots. Colton Hoover was leading thief with a total of two steals.
The following day, the Longhorns stampeded down into Arthur County to battle the Wolves. The night started off badly for the Longhorns, and by half time the Wolves were leading. The third quarter the Longhorns made a valiant stand, scoring their most points in this quarter. The Wolves won in the end, 26-62. Leading scorer of the night was Johnson, and Johnson was also the leader of assists, with a total of three. Safarik was leader of rebounds, with a total of seven. Safarik was also leader of BLOCK SHOTS, with a total of two. Hoover was leading thief with a total of three. Their next game will be at Hay Springs as the take on the Hawks.
