On May 3rd 2012, the second annual William Davis Memorial Art Show was held at the Hyannis High School Gym in conjunction with Awards Night. Over 100 entires from Hyannis junior high and high school students were shown. Two outside judges were brought in to review the artworks and choose a winner. Both judges said they enjoyed looking at the our town's local talent. Winners of this years William Davis Memorial Art Show 1st place- Bailey Schaack with her photograph titled "Greenery" 2nd Place- Veronica Parish and her handmade batik quilt called "Sewn with Love" . . . read more
Hyannis FPS Shines Bright at State Bowl On April 21st 2012 Hyannis' Middle Division FPS headed to Kearney to compete in the State Bowl. The team of Jada Jensen, Brett Menuey, Sierra Rediger, and Maddie Ramsay placed 4th overall out of the 12 teams that attended the bowl. Bo Holthus placed 1st on his alternate team and Aaron Ferguson also competed in the alternate division. Overall, the team did extremely well. Art Students took part in a variety of contests and activities in the month of April Elementary students participated in the "Hugs for Soldiers" event. Students drew signs welcoming our service men and women home from overseas. The signs were mailed to the organizers of the event and will be displayed in the soldier's barracks.
